CANNES LIONS

During the Juneteenth celebrations, Cannes Lions and Lippe Taylor collaborated in Cannes, France, to honor Black culture and creators. Their goal was to dedicate a late evening event to fostering an environment of inclusivity that both encouraged unity and sparked forward-thinking creativity. I had the privilege of leading the art direction for this event, creating the design and production of all related materials to ensure they resonated with the theme of celebration and unity.

THE IDEA

Inspired by the chic, party scene of La Croisette in Cannes, France, our design concept combined modern elegance with a welcoming atmosphere. Drawing from the picturesque sunsets and coastal skyline of Cannes, I developed a color scheme and cloud-like typography that felt inviting. Incorporating the Juneteenth flag's red and blue, I ensured our event's palette resonated with tradition while embodying a modern touch. The use of circular motifs in our secondary typography further symbolized unity, adding a contemporary flair to our theme.
